Day 10 but first time posting here

Hello, I just joined this group and would like to introduce myself. I (45M) am trying to return to my pre-COVID weight and lower my LDL cholesterol. I've been hovering in the 215-220 lb. range for the last few months, which is about the heaviest I've ever been. I'd like to get back to 180. I was almost at that goal 2.5 years ago, but then COVID struck and disrupted everything. I also quit smoking three weeks ago, so it's important to make changes now so I don't gain more weight than I already have.

My strategy is a pescetarian diet with only a little egg and dairy, no red meat or poultry. I'm allowing myself to have the occasional sugary beverage or dessert but not every day. My alcohol consumption is down to once a week or less (and truthfully, I think I'd be happier not drinking at all for a while). I'm eating lots of vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and mushrooms, with at most one serving of fish daily. I cannot fast because I'm prone to hypoglycemia, so I'm turning to healthy snacks whenever I'm hungry. Also, I constantly drink water no matter where I am or what I'm doing.

I enjoy running, swimming, and riding my bike. The challenge is making time to exercise. I'm trying to commit to doing at least one of them most days, except for a couple of days each week when I am too busy. I'm trying to get up to expending 4000 calories a day, which I can do as long as I can run, swim, or bike for an hour. I burn upwards of 3100 cals on my rest days. Even though I'm at a desk most of my work day, I get up frequently. I usually get over 5,000 steps in at work.

I'm using a Fitbit to track my steps and calories. I weigh myself daily after waking up and using the restroom. My weigh-ins fluctuate by a few pounds, but I calculate a 7-day rolling average to smooth out the variations. My 7DA has gone down by 0.5 lbs since I started tracking.

Anyway, I look forward to using this group for support and tips. Thanks for reading.
