Hey everyone, lurker here. I just wanted to share my experience for the past 6 months as I have lost 40lbs. On January 1st I was my heaviest at 360lbs (6'1 for anyone curious) and the one big take away I would want anyone who is in a similar situation to hear is... if you drink alocohol 4+ times a week, consider it a problem. Like many, the past 2 years has put a big toll on my mental health and my escape was to drink. I am 3 months sober now and have been eating the way I want while slowly incorporting the gym back into my routine. I feel like nowadays people gravitate towards an all or nothing approach and get burnt out very easily. If that may be starving yourself or over working yourself in the gym... What has been working for me is drinking at minimum half a gallon of spring water a day (up to 1 gallon daily) and tracking calories. I recommend using a TDEE calculator to find out what your calorie intake should be to maintain. If you put yourself at a daily 300-500 calorie deficit you will see results. I hope this helps someone, even if its just one person. Feel free to ask me any questions :) Have a good day everyone
