When I(18f) was a sophomore in high school I was really into the gym like 5-7 times a week I’d go and weight lift or do the treadmill I was like 140 at my lowest, but I switched schools things got more rigorous and I lost my time for the gym. It’s the summer before college I’m trying to lose weight I am 5’8 and 170 lbs I’ve lost around 4 lbs in the past 5-6 days by using the treadmill and being a little more mindful of what I’m eating(not that mindful).
You would think it would be easier, since I used to be such an avid goer, to get back into the swing of things. But it’s actually kind of embarrassing I can’t do the things that I used to, I want to build up towards weight lifting again, right now the treadmill is all I feel comfortable doing. Paired with social anxiety it’s kind of difficult to force myself out of my comfort zone.
I want to get back to at least 150, hopefully by the end of the summer, and then evaluate where I want to go from there. My main goal is to lose fat and I feel like my body felt best and looked best when I was prioritizing lifting. Does anyone have advice on how to build gym confidence?
