Help Structuring Meals for Night Shift + Gym

Hi there :) I’m looking for guidance on how to structure my eating as a night shift worker, with a focus on weight loss and building a consistent routine.

I work from 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM, and my current sleep schedule is split: 9 AM–1 PM and again from 6 PM–10 PM before heading into work. I’m open to adjusting that if a different structure would help with energy etc.

I usually work out either at 2 PM (after my first sleep block) or around 10 PM (before my shift). My main goals are to lose weight and build a sustainable routine that supports my energy levels and recovery.

Some of the things I’m unsure about: • Should I align my meals with a traditional day schedule (e.g., breakfast after waking up), or time them around my shift hours? • Is it okay to eat during the night, or should I limit food intake during those hours? • What and when should I eat around my workouts for best results, especially considering the odd timing? • How many meals/snacks would you recommend for someone on this kind of schedule?

Any insights on how to eat well, fuel workouts, and support weight loss while working overnight would be really appreciated!
