I went through a fairly traumatic car crash on January 1st, 2023. I was hit by a DUI driver going 60mph while turning left into work. He killed two pedestrians 100ft away from me. It made me reevaluate things. Things like my weight.
After I got prescribed antidepressants (prozac) when I finally talked to someone about my depression I had for years (worsened by the car crash). I decided to weigh myself at the end of June, 2023. I weighed 434lbs. The biggest number I had ever seen on the scale in my life. I've always been fat since childhood. But I lost 60lbs in 2019 and deluded myself that I hadn't gained much of it back. I gained it back and then some (120lbs gained between 2019-2023). And I decided to lose weight again.
But this time I was going to do it alone, last time I was on a keto/low carb diet with my family and I hated it. This time was just calories and exercise. Mostly walking with some weight training. I need to get back to weight training since my appendicitis (appendix burst >:| ) at the end of 2023. For the first time in my adult life, I've been in the 200s and I can do push ups (something I could never do before)
I lost weight quickly, and really my only issue because of that is I gained gallstones which now I'm dealing with another surgery to look forward to. But I don't regret losing the weight and continuing to lose weight. My end goal is around 200.
Before photos are at around 400lbs. After are current.
