Lost 53 pounds in 12 months. What now? Keep losing or focus on gaining lean mass?

Over the course of the last 12 months, I've lost 24kg (53 pounds) while also adding a little muscle.

I went for a DEXA scan at the beginning as I wanted a better way to measure my recomposition than just the scale and it came back as 37% body fat 😬 Planning on having my follow up DEXA to check my progress in June or July.

I've made modest strength gains, and gone from 3XL to XL.

I really wish spot reducing was real, I seem to have lost a lot of fat off my arms and legs, to the point where some veins are starting to be always visibly standing proud of the surrounding skin on my thighs and forearms, but I still have flabby belly rolls and I hate it. I look like an upright frog.

Obviously some fat has come off my trunk or I wouldn't have gone down 2 clothing sizes but I think I just look weird. Like a fat person with a moderately fit person's limbs attached.

I'm starting to suffer from diet fatigue so have gone back to maintenance calories for a while to try and regain my equilibrium.

I'd really like to try focusing on adding some muscle as my main focus for the next 6 months, while at a low to medium surplus to try and avoid adding much fat on. Take my mind off the non budging belly for a while.

But should I? Is it too early to change focus to muscle building when I still have a relatively high body fat percentage?
