Losing weight by skipping dinner

Would skipping dinner be an effective method to lose body fat? I've been doing this for a week or so now and it's too early to see results clearly but I've seen my stomach reduce in size. Not sure if this is reduction in bloating though. Anyways, my meals are the same as before I started this diet, I'm not eating snacks, and I'm not eating additional to other meals to compensate for them. I'm not hungry during dinner time anymore, too.

Has anyone else tried this tactic or know about it? Is it good for losing body fat? Would it decrease my body muscle too (trying to avoid this and I'm also working out)? Thanks.
