Could use some advice

Hey everyone,

Been lurking here for a second. Could use some help.

I’m 20M, 225, 6’3. I used to be decently fit about a year ago, I was ready to join the military, but due to an asthma record I got denied. This lead to a short but damaging “sad” period of time where I put on 30LBS. I’ve gotten out of that rut, found meaning in life once again, all that good stuff.

But that 30LB is still there. My run time crashed from a 7 minute miles, 14 minutes for two miles, to being winded after a single 10 minute mile.

I don’t have any inherent diet skills given to me from my folks, but I’d like to be a better cook, so I was wondering if any of you had general tips for me, or cheap recipes for healthy meals. My main weak spot is food, but I have a calorie tracker ready to go.

Something I’ve already done the last 2 months is drink nothing but water. So I know I can do this, but I’d like to hear from y’all first if that’s alright.
