I (F, 5'5) started my weight loss at around 77kg when I realised I'm not happy with my weight. That was several months ago, maybe a year.
The journey to lose weight has been very slow, especially in the beginning. I went to the gym often, although I did make long pauses in between.
I was struggling with my food intake pretty often and rarely was the food i was eating nutritious.
Fast forward this year in August, I was visiting a family member that practises not overeating, going light on the stomach after a big meal, being active etc. When I arrived, I weighed like 70 kg.
I had asked her to make soup twice a week, to have fruits in the house often and for us to not eat fast food every other day. She agreed and my whole perspective on food changed.
I'm happy to share that I slowly have been learning to be less anxious around food, to be okay with eating within a calorie deficit, to give my body the opportunity to feel good from what I give it. I've also started bringing up my disordered eating habits in therapy.
I have been 64.7 kg for 2 weeks and I accidentaly went into maintance mode instead of cutting mode. But then today I dropped 1.1kg by altering my diet.
I now weigh 63.6kg and I plan to keep going until I hit 58kg. If that turns out to be difficult to maintain, then I'll be okay with 59-60kg.
My biggest acomplishment and long term challenge is to keep changing my perspective on food and to build a healthy relationship with it.
This sub has been very motivating so I thought why not share my own story!
