Long story short. I have a friend who's a lovely guy, really is. But he doesn't seem to understand "no" when he's had a little bit of a drink. When we're together he always makes plans with me to go for walks and to do stuff that makes me work up a sweat because he really likes that i lost 80 lbs over the past year.
Yet there are some instances where he wants to go one of those late night food shops. And every time he asks me "Do you want anything?" and i tell him no. He says "i know you for a while, and i know you want something"
And you know? Caloriewise i can grab a bag of crisps once a week or a can of cookies or whatever so it's not a very big deal, but i always decide NOT to do it because it just doesn't really ring with me anymore.
Anyway, we discuss it for a bit in the car, and he then comes back with either some cookies or my favourite chips and it drives me absolutely mental. Again, i can have it just fine from a calorie standpoint because i tend to stay 500-600 kcal under me TDEE every day. So at the end of the week that's a 3500-4200 kcal deficit, so a bag of chips aka 700 kcal isn't going to hurt me. But the fact that he doesn't respect my boundary makes me feel like he does not have respect for the journey i'm going through even though he says he has.
Has anyone else ever had a friend like this? Discouraging/disrespectful/grabbing you something even though you said you didn't want too? And how did you respond?
