Hey there Guys,
I have a mindset question, that probably has been asked 100 times already. I am currently unlearning some unhealthy habits and thinking, all while trying to take a reasonable approach to weight loss. Usually I eat around 1500 kcal\d (I am 5,6ft and weigh now around 169lbs/77kg), which doesn’t leave me starving or super hungry at the end of the day. I combine my diet with 3 days running (30mins) and a 5x5split on the days in between. Since I don’t want to feel like I am missing out on life, I sometimes also allow myself to eat out with friends and family - but I am always tracking a rough amount of calories after to get a better understanding of food. This is where my question sets in: gaining/retaining weight after those days. I know that it’s a normal thing and I am aware that usually salt intake etc. can lead up to weight retention, but it feels incredibly frustrating and makes me wanna skip on those events. Friday I was on a date and ate around 2900 kcal, but also went running and walked a lot. And as I stepped on the scale, like every Monday, I saw that my weight increased by almost 2 kg. I expected weight gain, but it still frustrates me especially since it’s been a couple of days where I did eat within my calories. How do you guys deal with that? I thought about skipping the scale, but I want to understand that it’s ok to gain weight like that and it does not mean that I am not making progress. Skipping the weigh in seems just like an avoiding the problem.
Thank you in advance!
