I get the intent behind it, I do. But having been overweight all my life, I cannot get on board with it. I won't judge others, i won't comment on others, but I can't get it out of my head that I'm better off thinner.
They say fat is beautiful, ok, that's perspective, but they also say medical science has to catch up with people being overweight. That all the research is outdated and being overweight won't harm you as much as people have made you believe. That counting calories or dieting is more harmful. And this is not just about skinny people wanting to get skinnier, they say that about overweight people wanting to get to a healthy weight. (Again, they challenge the notion of healthy weight)
None of this makes me feel better. I WANT to lose weight, and hopefully I will. Is it just very deeply ingrained in me that I refuse to see positivity? I guess I'm ranting at this point. But I just wanted to know this community's take on it. I relate so much to people here! It's a tribe i never had.
