I was known to frequent Dairy Queen, Wendy's, Chic fil a, Waffle House and a host of other places almost every day of the week.
I think today marks the culmination of a 2 month long break from this habit. I decided to get my favorite dish, and it tasted remarkably less good than I remember.
Universally, every fast food item I remember liking now tastes more gross to me. I can taste the old seed oils, the corn syrup and it's putting me off to the point where if I'm hungry before work and my choice is to go hungry or get a chicken sandwich from Chik fil a or (shudder) Popeye's, I'd rather stay hungry for a few hours or eat something less than a 1/3rd as calorie dense, like an apple.
It also helps promote a break from fast food for it to be so low quality, and increasing in price all the time. I see bright days ahead for my waistline, and perhaps even my wallet.
