How to stop overeating

I am a freshman in college this year and recently have noticed a little bit of weight gain. I feel uncomfortable and sluggish now. I am very active and workout 5-6 days a week, I just cannot get my nutrition in place. I have tried to track calories but always end up just going over and thinking I can start back tomorrow. I love to eat and I would say I am a volume eater. I do not restrict any foods and tend to have a pretty unhealthy diet overall. I do want to start eating healthy, but really want to stop overeating and always thinking about food first. Does anyone have any tips for this?
