boxing with 370lbs? Need some positive words.❤️‍🩹

Hey everyone, i guess i‘m just looking for some encouragement.

I got the opportunity to get one of those more expensive heavy bags for free and took it, as i have been interested in kickboxing, mma and boxing since my teens. But never actually learned it.

Now i‘m 21(f), have asthma, and weigh 370lbs. Mainly because i lay in bed all day and also binging, although that has gotten better.

I scrolled a little through different subreddits to read about experiences of ppl boxing to lose weight and the comments were always stuff like „dont start with that, do X instead“. They always told the OPs to do a billion other things first, like first lose weight, or jump rope for weeks or run (which is not healthy for knees with my weight lol)

I dont want to compete or like become a pro, i just want to have a hobby, lose weight, have new goals that are archieveable and most importantly move my body.

Like i literally got a dopamine hit yesterday realizing my foot can reach the top of heavy bag, which is taller than me, like i was shook but so happy😭😂 It just felt so great

I ordered hand wraps and stuff for like 20ish bucks to make sure i am safely doing this.

But now with reading all these comments i feel like i am doing the wrong thing and maybe dont give boxing a try.😭 Like i just feel like i dont „belong“ if that makes sense
