Best exercise to help with skinny fat/slow weight loss? (Weights vs fitness classes like pilates etc)

Hi everyone,

I (F21) have lost 20kg (44lbs), from 95kg (209lbs) to 75kg (165lbs) over the last year. I did this with a mostly diet-only approach, 1500cal/day and some very light and occasional exercise. However, it is now getting trickier to consistently lose weight with diet alone, and I think it is time to incorporate some exercise.

Also, although I have lost weight (albeit still a fair way to go!), my body is not very toned or trim (best described as "skinny fat" maybe?).

I often see weight lifting touted as the best exercise for weight loss, however I am wondering if anyone has found results with fitness classes, like pilates or Zumba. I have found these fun in the past.

I am really open to suggestions, like potentially a combination of the two, but mostly hoping to hear what has worked/not worked for you all! Bonus points if we have similar stats.

Thanks in advance! :)
