Hey everyone, I wanted to share my personal journey and seek advice on something I've been struggling with for a long time now...
Up until the age of 20, I was quite lean, with a weight of 110 lbs at a height of 5'7. I wasn't on any strict diets or suffering from an eating disorder. Regular martial arts classes and cardio exercise kept me fit and allowed me to enjoy all sorts of foods. If I ever gained a few extra pounds, I could easily discipline myself and get back on track.
However, life took a turn when I started medical school. I completely stopped doing sports, but my eating habits remained the same, or even worsened. Fast forward to today, at almost 32 years old and having given birth a year ago, I now weigh around 145 lbs. I still don't engage in regular sports, but I manage to get in around 10,000 steps per day through walking.
I understand that for some people, my current weight may look good or even be a goal, and I don't want to offend anyone. However, I personally want to get back to my ideal weight of around 130 lbs, where I both look and feel my best. Whenever I attempt to eat healthier, it often ends with me indulging in a lot of ice cream, candies, or sweets by the end of the day. As a medical professional, I'm aware of the health risks associated with processed foods, but it seems challenging to break this cycle.
In other aspects of my life, I've managed to achieve my goals. But why has weight loss become such a hurdle for me? Where did my motivation go? I'm genuinely seeking advice and shared experiences on how to rekindle that drive and overcome this obstacle.
Thanks in advance for your insights and support!
