We all know in the end CICO is the only thing that matters, but everywhere you look they tell you to do keto/low carb, I think its by far the most popular advice. And a lot of doctors esp the ones with youtube channels will tell you to eat that way and say its the only way to be healthy.
I am somewhat skeptical. Its a diet very much suited for Western/meat based diets and just a rebranding of Atkins. Its definitely not vegetarian friendly and a lot of these people will straight up tell you not to be vegetarian. Pretty much the entire world loves carbs as a staple. If you tell someone in Europe not to eat bread or potatoes, or in Middle East/Asia not to eat rice, they'll consider you mad. And yet carbs are public enemy #1 in the US. And its not like keto is cheap.
I'm curious how many people follow that, esp if you've had long term success? what kind of changes have you made to your diet in general?
