how I lost 15kg(~30 pounds) in an year and it feels great.

i was slightly overweight and had an eating disorder where i would starve and binge in cycles . i am writing this post so that anyone who is in similar position as i was may get right guidance . i had to think deep about my weight loss process because i could not afford to eat high protein everyday plus both my parents are overweight too. so i am going to break down the process for you .

STEP 1 . Become active

seriously forget diet for now , first and foremost include some form of activity into your life . does not matter what just do something .lift ,walk , run ,yoga whatever works for you . if you are physically disabled because of weight then try to do some movements while sitting . i understand not everyone can carve out time for it but remember if you are active you will be at an advantage when it comes to weight loss. so , if you cant be active it is still ok , process will be slow but you still can do weight loss.

STEP 2. find a method that helps you keep the same weight (VERY VERY IMPORTANT)

before you even begin on weight loss , i would like you to find a way to keep your weight stable given your current lifestyle . in other words , find a sustainable way to keep your weight stable . i will give you my method but keep in mind you can find and adjust it to your lifestyle .

what i discovered was that if i ate till 70% full , and ate nonprocessed non sugar homecooked meals i would not gain any weight and my energy levels would be much better . I also started chewing food average of 36 times ,it helped me with bloating and digestion.

whatever your method once you find it now you are ready for weight loss. OBVIOUSLY track your weight daily but dont stress over day to day fluctuations , weekly trend should be stable not day to day weight .

STEP 3 actual weight loss

this is where you include your method of weight loss , what ever it is . for me it was pure CICO , eating in a deficit . but here is the trick that i used which i think can help you aswell . DIET BREAKS . i would be in a deficit for two to three weeks only which made me lose somewhere around 1-2 kgs . but then i could back to eating at my sustainable mantainance method ( which we talked about earlier) for as long as i like. which meant if i lost 2 kgs and ate my maintanance mode ( which also kept me happy and energetic) i would still be 2 kgs lighter months later. i used a 2week on 1 week off approach but longer breaks should also be incorporated .

END NOTES

i found this method to work for me , because for me it was sustainable and quite easy (300 kcal deficit is very easy) .plus because i figured my mantainance method my anxiety around food waivered , i stopped binging , my energy and mood improved considerably even before weightloss .

AND HEY WORK ON YOUR HAPPINESS .HAPPINESS IS THE BASE ON WHICH YOU BUILD NOT A REWARD YOU GET .
