Hello,
I am trying to count my my calories by weighing my food. I am looking at food on the U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE website. I broke down how many grams / carbs / fats per gram. However, when I weigh my food and calculate it.... the result is different then what is on the website. Here is what I did:
Protein per gram = protein / grams (0.77 / 100) = 0.00770
Carbs per gram = carbs / grams = (10.7 / 100) = 0.10700
Fats per gram = fats / grams = (0.14 / 100) = 0.00140
Protein = ( ( 100 * 0.00770 ) * 4 )
Carbs = ( ( 100 * 0.10700 ) * 4 )
Fats = ( ( 100 * 0.00140 ) * 9 )
Result = 47.14 calories
Website is showing:
100 grams
protein = 0.77g
fat = 0.14g
carbs = 10.7g
When I do 100 grams in my excel sheet I get 47.14 calories but on the website it is showing 42 calories. I cannot figure out what is going on, can someone help me?
