I go to the gym to lift as well as ride my bike to work. The rides about 45 minutes on the way in past the gym, 30 minutes home. It’s working well, I’m not looking to mess with it too much. Currently I ride to the gym, do 2 heavy/compound lifts, spin 10 min and get my heart rate way up, do 2 more core lifts then ride to work. I’m getting stronger while losing ~1kg/week. Things have been on track for 3 or 4 months.
I never feel the “burn” of muscle repairing and growing, which surprises me. I don’t know if it’s the calorie deficit, if I’m not working hard enough (I’m going to failure though), or if I need more lifts in the program to get there, or if what I’m doing is already great and the lack of muscle recovery sensation is expected under these conditions.
I guess the question is -
Should I dice the extra cardio in the middle of my weights for extra weights given my ~hour and a half of riding each week day? Or are the weights I’m doing already ample?
