Hi, I've been following this sub for about a year now but this is my first post.
Last year I was 176lbs, for me I was big. I was classed as obese on the NHS BMI chart.
A bit of back story of why I started my weight loss journey:
It was 30°C in the UK, I knew I had put on weight but was in denial about it. I tried on some of my summer clothes to go out to see the in-laws. Nothing fit and I mean nothing, my skirts wouldn't zip, my tops were too tight. So I cried. I sobbed my heart out and stayed home because who wears baggy jumpers and jeans when it's 30°C? I didn't know it but this was the best day of my journey. It was the "I am officially ready" day. I'd tried before but failed every time.
I came to this sub for advice. And it's worked miracles. Now, I know 28lbs in a year is slow but I wanted to do it slow.
Here's the best tips I've discovered because of all of you:
- High density vs low density foods.
- Cut calories easily buy halving your dinner and replacing that half with salad, vegetables, fruit etc.
- Walk, just walk.
- Water is your best friend. Aim to drink 1 litre more than your recommended intake.
- Weigh everyday, get to know your natural body fluctuations, don't be scared of the scale, you didn't gain 3lbs overnight.
Anyway thank you so much over the last year! I have 10lbs left to go and you guys will keep me motivated!
