Hey guys a bit of a rant and looking for advice
29M/166cm. I’ve always been an obese person. At my heaviest I was 100kg (220lb). After eating at around 1700 calories a day and working out 6 days a week for 2 years I managed to come down to 65kg (143lb) and be in the fittest shape of my life. I had a decent amount of muscle and quite strong. This was back in 2021. Fast forward to this year I had a chain of events happen which included several injuries and bouts of depression and binge drinking and I’ve gained most of the weight back and I’m sitting at 93kg (205lb) Finally I managed to get my foot in through the door of my gym again and started eating like I did when I started losing weight my previous time. I’m eating 1700cal (200g protein, 100g carbs, 60g fat). Im currently working out lifting weights 6 days a week. It’s been over a month now of being consistent with my eating, 8 hours sleep and lifting. I’ve gained my strength back and I’m even out lifting my previous self in some lifts, but annoyingly the scale has not even budged in the slightest. I don’t see much of a difference in the mirror either and it’s driving me nuts.
So here I am ranting and looking for advice on what to do, should I cut my calories further? I already feel like I’m on fumes by the end of a workout so I’m not even sure if I can maintain myself at lower calories. Should I just try and slug my way through this and see if anything changes down the road? It’s all super demotivating and I’m at a loss with what to do
