I know that normally the advice is that you cannot force someone else to make change, but this is kind of a unique set of circumstances. His stats are 165cm 73kg, he needs to be under 70kg by the 17th of March, or he will be put at the back of the 1+ year long waiting list.
I’ve lost nearly 30kg over the last couple of years, and he’s used that as a reason for putting me in charge of his diet. The issue is however, that the food we eat is like night and day. Here’s a list of things that are part of my diet that he refuses to eat:
-Any fruit except banana
-Any vegetable except potato and broccoli
-Whole wheat bread and pasta, any form of rice
-Beans, legumes
-Fish/seafood
-Most unprocessed meat
-Yoghurt/Skyr
-Eggs
-Nuts and seeds
As for what he will eat… well as I said in the title, it’s the kind of stuff I associate with a picky 10 year old. Fries, chicken nuggets, pizza, burger, chips. He is on the spectrum and I suspect he has Arfid, but I still get so frustrated at him sometimes.
We’ve had several fights over this, and I have to admit that I hate that I’ve been put in charge of this. But I want to help him so bad, I want him to get this surgery that would improve his quality of life immensely.
Would really appreciate any advice.
EDIT: sorry if the formatting is funky, I’m on mobile
