I have no idea if anyone would be interested but I made a post here https://old.reddit.com/r/loseit/comments/11bqobp/how_to_lose_weight_for_very_morbidly_obese/ so I kinda want to share my first month. The journey started very next day by installing Cronometer and logging everything. By everything, I mean everything. Only two meals I had to guess (and probably overguessed just to be sure) - one bought dinner on day #2 and one cake from coworker. Other than that, I am logging every recipe and every food. Cronometer suggested 2900 calories for 1000 calories deficit but I kept it around 2200 on average. Here is the consumed calories log: https://imgur.com/a/hpsWONR. I did not care about macros in this stage, just ate whatever I was fancying, as you can see from low protein. Later last week I started taking macros more seriously. Even got myself a protein shake so that I can, at the end of the day, if <90g of protein, use shake to get above 90g. I lost about 7kg of weight, which is supported by CICO almost perfectly, counting all negative calories [46880] and diving by fat burn rate I get: https://imgur.com/a/69xk9GK. Here is my fluctuating weight: https://imgur.com/a/qWhU6iO.
I honestly feel much better. Not only because of weight loss, but also because I started taking vitamin D3 which I must have been lacking because I am most of the week at home. For the first time in like 3 years I went to[well, driven to] an actual supermarket and did my groceries instead of delivering them. Apart from single meal at day #2, I stopped ordering cooked food altogether, mostly because most of restaurants lack calorie info so they can rightfully eff of lol. I could still eat mcdonalds and such but I don't feel like it. Honestly, I am a programmer and I love CICO counting and everything around it. It makes me excited to see all nutrients counte din for recipe, then water subtracted and see 100g calorie density. It's fun to log everything and I think, just by logging it I subconsciously make better choices. Before, I was totally oblivious that eating whole candy bar was so much calories. Now, I eat small portion and am very content with it. I also drink water a lot and only have few cans of soda per week as a snack. I can finally lock the seatbelt without extender (it is still tight but possible). I sleep better, before I had to sometimes wake up during night to pee, no longer need to do that. Only "bad" thing is sometimes I get constipation despite taking psilium supplements from time to time. But I still take that over having to take shit multiple times in the morning, being late to work that used to happen before a lot. I also try to be more in motion during the day, vacuuming at least once a day (before I vacuumed once a month). At any rate, I am in love with CICO and feel like it works well.
Strangely, some days, especially if I power through morning and lunch without eating [due to being in work without food etc] eating only occasional small portion of gummies and such I can then eat huge portion of food (1200+ calories in single meal) and then with that meal alone I can end day at 1500 calories and feel fine.
Do I wish I could lose weight faster, sure. But then I remind myself that if I keep losing 7kg a month in a year I will be in much better place than not doing anything. Thanks a lot for the support in the original thread, without it I would probably still be in the same position gaining weight!
