NSV - Tracking

So I'm (18F) a long time lurker, but I like seeing people's discourse about struggles and successes on here, since it motivates me. Anyways...

Recently, one of my classmates was talking about WW with me, and RAVING about how well it was working for her. I haven't tracked in forever but it made me think about trying again. In the past I have tried all of the popular calorie counters (cronometer, MFP, LoseIt, etc.) But I could never stick to it for even a day. I was always hungry and always ended up binging. This also made me skeptical of paying for WW but I had heard of iTrackBites (which is now Healthi). And luckily they have a free version.

So I downloaded it, and just wow. I have been on it for the last 3 or 4 days and have been doing amazing. The only day I didn't track everything was yesterday, due to eating out with my brother. I just wanted to enjoy it. Cut to tonight, I added up the calories to make sure I'm in a deficit, as I wasn't feeling restricted or hungry. Turns out, I am in a significant but healthy deficit for my size. This is a huge victory for me, and for once in my journey I feel like I can stick to something.

I don't want to make this too long winded, but I have proved to myself I can not only stick to something for more than a day, but I am able to get right back on track after overeating. It has also helped my mindset on tracking - I don't feel the mental pressure or shit feeling when I go over by a point or two.

For anyone who's curious, I am 270 and eating about 1500-1800 /day which is about a 1000 calorie deficit from my maintenance.
