A Small Win, Even Though I Went Over

198 Pounds (starting weight is technically 230 from three years ago. I've been yoyoing, but progress is progress. There is no objective rule) Male 26 (as of yesterday woot!)

Yesterday was my birthday, and my girlfriend and I decided to go to Texas Roadhouse. I decided to let myself go all out. I'm very kind to myself when it comes to "overeating" generally, and just laugh and pick myself back up and try again. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

After three-four buns, I couldn't even finish my burger and fries! We avoided appetizers so that we could finish our meals, and I was absolutely stuffed. Don't get me wrong, I still definitely went way over my calories for the day. I didn't do my usual vigorous cycling workout so my TDEE was probably 2270-2400 and I definitely ate probably 3500-4000 for the day.

I was surprised. I usually have room for appetizers, my meal, dessert, etc. I couldn't event finish my damn margarita. Does weight loss shrink your stomach? Does your body get used to eating less over time? I heard vigorous cardio actually decreases your appetite sometimes? Whatever, doesn't matter. All that matters is I went home stuffed with a box full of leftovers.

Remember, consistency is key. Take out the "all or nothing" and "should" cognitive distortions and you'll be fine. Be kind to yourself and I wish you all good luck and lots of love. ❤️
