How to overcome a plateau and is this water retention?

Hello, all! I've been trying to get my weight down(I'm about 6'4", and 245, I wanna get to about 215) and I've noticed some things in my journey.

I take daily ADD medication, and if anyone else has been on it before, you understand how it suppresses your appetite. I often do not eat more than 1 meal a day, and I also do not get adequate water intake. Furthermore, I am very active (University Student, and I play basketball/kickbox very often)

I have gotten stuck at 245 and I cannot pull any more weight off. However, I recently ran out of my ADD medication, and I began to see that while the weight wasn't coming off, I "looked" far slimmer. My face and abdomen seemed to be thinner. I had been eating far more, and despite that, I also appeared slimmer.

The moment I got back on my meds, I began to see my face and abdomen "swell" and my weight stay the same, despite my caloric intake being substantially less. That leads me to my question: Does anyone have any ideas as to what I should do to overcome this plateau in my weight and fix the possible water retention? (I think I just need to drink more water for the latter issue, but please confirm that.)
