My experience with Phentermine and Qsymia

Of course everyone's experience is different, but I(f22) wanted to share my experience with Qsymia bc it was pretty rough and I want others to be aware of what they could be getting into.

*I am currently taking Contrave, Phentermine and just stopped taking Topiramate.

8 months ago was my first time on Phentermine. In my state, it's 3 months on, 6 months off. Half pill before breakfast first two days then one half of the pill before breakfast and the other half later in the day. I don't need to take a full pill a day, so I'm able to get more out of it which is nice. The side effects were rough. Either they lasted a few weeks or took time getting used to. Main side effects: -Dry Mouth -Constipation -Eye Strain -Head Aches -Nausea -Shaking I did start noticing changes pretty quick. I was physically hungry but not mentally hungry, if that makes sense. Going to the gym did help the medication work better. I had some help with being on a gluten free diet. I didn't lose as much as other people usually do but, I think I lost a healthy amount. After stopping Phentermine in June, I managed to keep the weight down. Gained just a few pound but nothing to worry over. Overall was a decent experience. Total Weight Loss: 35lbs

I was just prescribed the Topiramate part of Qsymia. It's something you take at night. It's been a little over a week now. I've noticed nothing different about my appetite. Probably because I haven't waited long enough for it to kick in. But let me tell you. These side effects are crazy(for me). I've been very angry, like my temper is worse. I've been so emotional. The smallest thing makes me want to cry. Lots of depression and anxiety, which has been effecting my work life. Suicidal thoughts. I also haven't been able to sleep(This was also a temporary issue with Phentermine).

Why I am stopping it so early and not giving it a longer chance to work: (1) I'm happy with taking the Phent. Plus, I want to go the gym a little more anyways. (2) It's currently 7:36am. I haven't slept all night. I've been crying the entire time and wondering why I'm not good enough. Been thinking about negative thoughts that haven't come up in a long time. Rethinking life. You get the point. At least I tried it out. (TL;DR: phentermine's not bad, get over the first few weeks of side effects and you'll be fine. Qsymia side effects will mentally f you over. Not worth it imo)

Thanks for reading this long review. :)
