One step at a time

New to Reddit, new to weight loss, new to weight gain, a lot of unknowns for me right now honestly so bear with me with if you can.

I’ve always been relatively thin and athletic, but I started putting on weight after graduating college. I blame it on simply not walking to class plus having more time to eat, but I also just don’t have as much motivation as I used to when it comes to moving, period. I used to want to go for walks and play pick-up sports games whenever possible, but now I just can’t bring myself to do it. It’s led to me putting on a lot of weight. Now that I have, I want to lose it, but I don’t even know where to start. I tried calorie counting but I can never stick with it long enough to see a difference. I think I just want to pick one thing and focus all of my energy on it, but what should I pick? Eating well, or exercise? If there was one thing you’d recommend I stay away from (food wise) or start getting involved in, what would it be? Anything helps, I’m just really overwhelmed with it and want to move forward one step at a time. Thank you in advance!
