How hungry should I be feeling?

I am 5"6", 227 pounds. I've been on a 1600 calorie diet for the past 2 weeks. It's been going well, and I can already feel my body trimming down slowly. But, the last few days, I've been feeling constantly hungry after breakfast and several hours till lunch. The morning time seems to be the toughest for me. I wake up at 5 and 30, eat at 6:20, and then a small snack at 11:00 and lunch at about 13:30. So that's several hours of hunger during work, and it can fluctuate from light to moderate hunger. Makes it a bit harder to focus. I'm afraid of adding more calories in the morning, because I won't be able to eat much during lunch and dinner. Is it normal ?
