Hi all,
I'm 6 weeks into cutting my calories and my weight has gone done and right back up. What can I do?
I'm 41 year old male. 5'9". Starting weight 220
I've put my calories at 2200 a day and have done my best to count that diligently. I've also cut out junk food and almost all flour. Focusing on lean meat, produce and no "empty carbs" at meal time.
For the first two weeks, my weight stayed about the same. Then on weeks 3 and 4 my weight dropped each week for a total of 5 pounds. But over the last two weeks, eating the same amount of food, my weight has jumped back up to 220.
This is what happens every time I've tried to lose weight through any means - a tiny shred of progress and then I wake up and the pounds are back on.
I know the advice will probably be to eat even fewer calories but here's the thing: I'm already really really struggling with hunger. I'm hungry all the time. I go to bed very hungry every night. I think about food more than I want to. If I were losing the weight it would be worth it...but I'm not. I don't know if I have the mental fortitude to eat even less and be even more hungry.
I guess I'm wondering if there is anything else I can try to either increase my tolerance of the hunger or to lose weight more effectively.
Thank you
