17M, Asian. Around 171cm and 68kg.
My overall body size is acceptable to me, except for my face. I have an overall round face shape and quite a big/fat nose. The only time I can look at myself comfortably is in the mirror, hence I cannot stand taking pictures; I looked terrible in a recent professional photoshoot. I wouldn't care about this if I was confident, but it ruins my self-image not liking how I look. This directly affects my mental health and social skills, and covid didn't help either given that I can hide in a mask.
I pretty much know that all I need to do is be consistently exercising (running, rope skip) and dieting. I am in the last two months of high school so it is quite intensive, but to be honest I know that I could fit it in if I wanted to. But I'm not sure the sole idea of getting a more defined face is a strong enough motivating factor for me to work out. I get into a constant cycle of guilt of not working out, then go to seek other methods of instant gratification.
For school work, I do have a To-do list for all my assignments. Now is the study period for the finals, so I'll be at home most of the time.
The questions are:
1) how do I start with routines that I KNOW I'll be able to stick with, other than setting expectations like "wake up for 3k run at 5 am" and "rope skip for 1 hour every day" which I ended up not sticking to and in the end affected my mental health as well.
2) How do I follow a consistent diet plan, if my eating routines are usually:
a) eating out; I tend to eat a lot when I eat with my parents;-;
b) School cafeteria food (fried rice, noodles, sandwiches)
c) food from my mom's restaurant (fish, rice; relatively heavy meals as well but I could ask her to prepare healthy meals)
d) also don't eat vegetables
Yeah, that's it. We kinda don't have a kitchen so these are the only options. I've tried to stay at a calorie deficit of like 1300 but I just ended up being hungry and unfocused in school. I would say a heavy meal day be something like:
-hotpot, maybe 5 plates of meat and mushrooms, noodles, no vegetables
-curry powder fish and rice
-a hashbrowns sandwich
I'm not really gaining/losing weight with this. But I do find that my meals can be quite caloric.
I appreciate it if you have any advice for this lost teenager. Thank you :D
