NSV: Didn't need the largest size in the store!

I'm 24, F, 168cm, SW: 136kg, CW: 110kg, GW: 80?

Hello everyone! I've been lurking for long, but I decided to share something at last. I've been on the heavier side most of life, but my weight skyrocketed when I started university, with the highest being around 136kg (300lbs). I couldn't find clothes and I had started slowing down physically, so I decided to do something and the past three years I've been very slowly losing (26kgs/57lbs so far).

Until now shopping hasn't been the greatest experience. I would go to a store, pick the biggest size they had, try it and if it fit (even badly) I'd be thankful, if not i'd leave embarrassed, you know how it is. Due to my location shopping for bigger sizes is quite limited as well.

I have an ocassion coming up and I needed some formal wear. So yesterday I went to a store that has bigger sizes, picked a few items I liked and thought they would fit and stepped into the fitting room. And to my surprise...not only they did fit, but they were also too loose on me? Like wow. I had to try the same items, four sizes down (from UK 22 to 18) and they fit great! I think that's when it hit me: that I am, in fact, losing weight succesfully.

I'm also two sizes down at shoes, which was a big surprise. My older shoes are big on me now, also wow.

It hasn't been easy so far and it's slow, but it is happening! I'm eating at a deficit (the loseit app has been great to me) and I found a specialised endocrinologist as I'm dealing with thyroid, pcos and insulin-resistance issues. After getting on appropriate medication things have been much smoother. I'm trying to keep as active as possible by going for walks, playing Just Dance, or doing my errands by foot.

Also therapy was a catalyst to my weight loss, as my eating habits were interconnected with my anxiety. I had to unlearn pretty much every food and eating realted habit and belief I had the first 18 years of my life.

If you made it down here thank you for your time!

I know there are many people out there getting impatient or disheartened disheartened because their weight loss is slow, but please, do keep it up and you will see results eventually! And if something seems off, please do check your hormones, as they can mess everything up really badly.
