My husband is so sweet. He never told me I got fat. I found out one day in the Target dressing room. >sad horn<
I owned no jeans and dressing rooms had been closed for years. (thanks COVID)
I found out Target had opened their dressing rooms! *YAY!*
Got some jeans in my size, took off my leggings, bent down to put on the Target jeans and that's when it happened. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror!
HOW? WHO? WHHHHAAAAATTTTT? NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! I was screaming inside. I didn't even recognize my reflection. It COULDN'T be me I was looking at!
I busted out of the changing room and asked my husband who was sitting on the waiting bench, "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME I GOT FAT?" He laughed and reassured me I still looked great to him. (Shallow Hal anyone???)
I had spent the past 2 years living in a fuzzy robe trying to survive four kids being with me every second of every day while trying to do their schoolwork, and I fell into the loving arms of every candy, cookie, cheesecake, and >insert random snack< every second that I could. Junk food was my survival fuel.
Our school started dropping off boxes of kids' food and snacks too, and MAN OH MAN those Scooby Snacks smacked! Along with all the other snack junk, juices, caramel apples, and other random junk they gave us. I inhaled it all.
Add to that the mix of NO exercise and NOWHERE to go! Oof, I'm surprised I can move my fingers right now.
Back to the changing room. I pulled up the pants, and they gave me a butt in the front. WHAT THE FUDGE IS THIS??? I've never had a stomach pooch like that in my life. ALSO, never had fat on my back. There was even a crease on my back under my bra on my side!
So yeah, people, all of this to say: GET A FULL-LENGTH BODY MIRROR AND CHECK YOURSELF NOW AND THEN to make sure the fat doesn't creep in while you're not expecting. I noticed my boobs getting bigger, and was cool with that, but the rest IDK, I just never really put on clothes bc we went nowhere!!!
On August 1st I decided I was going to make some changes. So far the only things I've changed is that I haven't had fast food or pop/juice all month long. I also drink a boatload of water, but some days forget.
I need to lose this weight. I literally weigh what I did when I gave birth, after growing a whole human being for 9 months!!!
My goal is to lose 30 lbs before t-shirt weather rolls around next year. The sooner the better, but for sure before then!!! Looking forward to sharing my wins and reading others' for inspiration!!!
