I want to give up on dieting after learning how much calories are in things like peanut butter and olive oil
Basically, I use olive oil in all of my cooking. I’ve been thinking that I was eating healthy the past couple weeks but now I’m realizing that my “healthy” meals of sautéed chicken and veggies likely has over 500 calories JUST in oil. I can’t imagine using less oil as I like to either marinate my chicken or put enough oil to coat the seasonings on it and I like to cook it with olive oil in the pan so it isn’t dry or stick to the pan. I have ADHD, so constantly weighing things and calculating calories would drive me batshit insane. It already overwhelms me cooking my own meals. People say they can’t believe how fat America is but I honestly can’t believe we’re not even fatter given how easy it is to overeat and not even realize it! Like I follow so many food/travel people on TikTok who are either super thin or super fit eating huge portions of the most unhealthy things imaginable on a daily basis and they look great. It infuriates me. I feel like if I eat an extra cracker I gain weight. Not only have I been eating more calories than I thought I was since starting this and not losing weight, I’m STILL craving a bunch of shit and constantly thinking about food despite consuming more calories and fat than I realized. I’m ready to throw the towel in and accept that I’ll always be overweight
