I (F28) began my weight loss journey at the end of November weighing 339.5lb. I was at my heaviest, despite going to the gym 3 times a week for 6 months prior, so I decided to trial orlistat, but after 3 weeks I found the side effects too harsh and painful so I couldn't continue despite managing to lose 18lb. I gained about 10lb back over christmas and January, but kept going to the gym and kept eating less junk, swapped most of my fizzy drink intake for sparkling water with zero calorie squash, as it was the fizzy aspect of the drinks that I liked rather than what I was drinking, and the weight was slowly trickling off.
I had a big boost 3 weeks ago when I got a stomach bug and lost 10lb with it but expected to put it back on as weight loss from sickness is usually just water weight and generally doesn't last. I got weighed at the doctors yesterday and found not only had I kept that 10lb off, but I had lost a further 7lb.
That has brought my total loss as of yesterday to 30lb! I am now 309.5lb, back to the weight I was in 2020 when I last tried to lose weight and managed 19lb at the time, and I feel fantastic about it. I have never lost this much weight before. It is honestly a real motivator and I feel like I can really do this now. I am really excited to continue this journey. I've found a lot of good advice here and just wanted to share it with you guys. Thank you for all support given whenever I have asked for help.
