I lost a lot of weight during the pandemic, around 35lbs through good nutrition and really uppping my physical activity (10k + steps a day, I bought a bike, worked out 4x times a week) however when I look back I really feel like I never ‘deprived’ myself during my weight loss, I was looking back through MFP and I think the lowest I really ever went to calorie wise was 1700 when I was at my last few lbs at my smallest.
Over the past 6 months I’ve gained about 14lbs of that back due to completely falling out my exercise routine and diet (albeit it was a lot better than what it was) so I’m trying to get those last 14lbs back off so I’m back comfortable in my skin. However I can’t get over how hard it is now. It’s been 2 months and I’ve lost a pound. The answer is I’m obviously not in a correct defecit which I know I haven’t always been, but even on the weeks where I’m perfect getting the scales to budge just seems like a nightmare. I have one meal out with friends or allow myself a treat in the week and I automatically put the loss back on. I know I just need to knuckle down and get more disciplined, but first time round If I did things like that it wouldn’t really make a difference and I’d usually still get my 1lb loss a week. It’s crazy how this time round I feel like I have to be crazy perfect with my nutrition to get anywhere, I feel the hunger so much more and the mental challenge was hard the first time but it’s even worse this time round
Anyone else find the same when they tried a second time round? Any tips?
