What can I do at the gym instead of the elliptical for a change? Getting bored of it, but want to keep up the results.
Started my weight-loss journey last summer, down around 110-115lbs so far, training every day, lately actually twice a day. Took my first day off in weeks yesterday. Happy with my trajectory so far, but have a ways to go still. Part of what I've been doing is hitting the elliptical for 40-60 minutes every day. I go at a pretty quick walking pace and use a resistance of 15. I've gotten quite bored of it, despite listening to podcasts or hype music, and am wondering what I might be able to do instead. It really gets a great sweat going, and according to the machine, I lose about 250-270 cal for every 20 minutes, so from 500-750 cal+ every day just on that. But yeah, I'm just getting so very bored of it. I also don't love the bicycle. I know this isn't about finding something you "love", but these things are just so very pedantic, especially for someone with an over-active mind such as myself- the boredom is sheer torment. I have a lot more "fun" doing weights, even if they're harder to do. Just wondering what alternatives there might be... or could I maybe go to higher intensity for shorter periods to garner the same results? My heartbeat seems to be around 140-162 while on the elliptical, so not sure it would be good to push much further? I also segment my usage; I do 10-20 minute intervals. 20 min, then weights, 20 min, then weighs, etc. Okay, time for sleep now... got 60 min of elliptical to conquer in the morning!
