I used to be a dancer and still have a great deal of muscle, but I've had a series of health problems, including cancer that have left me basically bedridden for several years. I got covid towards the beginning of the lockdown and have had extreme difficulty bouncing back. In fact, during that time I put on 100 more lbs. I've tired various fad diets but they don't work and some make me feel quite ill.
Mentally, I'm in a great place to finally reclaim my life. I have access to weight lifting equipment and hours each day that I could be dedicating to exercise and proper eating, but I'm so lost as to the right way to do it. I know that (for me at least) fad diets don't work and I want from this experience to become strong and healthy. I could really use your advice and wisdom. It won't fall on deaf ears and I really appreciate your time.
