Where do I start?

Title says it all I wanna lose weight but have no clue where to start. I’m currently “skinny fat”. I wake up everyday and hate the way I look. I exercise but I’m not sure about how to build muscle either or what exercises specifically to do? I lift weight and see my muscles get bigger but I can only see them when I flex…dieting is hard to because I don’t know what to eat either. Any suggestions as a starting point.? For context I’m male 154, 5’6 and I’m 20 years old.
