Hello all. I met my boyfriend early last year and we decided to move in this year in June. His eating habits were terrible and we talked about how I was worried it would be a problem for me when he moved in. I've been able to maintain a stable weight for about 8 years after losing 20 pounds by not buying the foods I crave, not even having any of that stuff in the house. I used to eat out once a week with friends before covid. I hiked regularly a few times a week. Since he moved in 5 months ago there is always pop and cookies and ice cream around that he buys. He wants to make me breakfast on the weekends which is usually waffles and sausage (I used to eat a couple eggs scrambled or nothing at all till lunch time). He wants to order out 2-3 times a week, usually pizza or wings or pasta. So far I've gained about 9 pounds and I'm worried it's going to keep going up. He knows about my struggle and asked what he can do to help, and I gave him some suggestions but it never sticks. He did start going to the gym with me and quit cigarettes, so his habits have improved with us joining our lives together, but I'm really struggling with anger, self hate, and depression since he moved in.
Can anyone else relate? If you've been successful in a situation like this, how did you cope and what did you do? I'm trying to count calories but by the end of the night I give in and say "there's always tomorrow" as I'm scooping out a bowl of ice cream.
