I'm tired of fat people who aren't actively losing/actively trying to lose weight giving me "tips"

Mini rant incoming...

I'm getting really sick of people who are in worse shape than I was when I started telling me what I should be doing. "You can't just eat that, you must be missing something important from your diet" was said to me today. I literally went through my diet with a dietitian and was told that other than maybe lacking variety in flavor, there was nothing wrong with it. I was stuck having a conversation with a guy I've been friends switch since we were 12 based around "if you're not taking pre-workout and recovery supplements, you're just wasting your time in the gym"-- Maybe if I was trying to put on muscle or was a high- performance athlete, but I'm not, I'm a fat guy trying to burn excess fat, I've been doing a hell of a good job at it too. My mother is the absolute worst for it, mostly because I know that she means well, but she is the type to latch onto health "information" from people like Dr. Oz. I don't care that Tumeric has the benefits of whatever. I had some routine blood work done and a visit with my doctor because of some pulled muscles, found out I have low blood pressure from sweating so much (He suspects the low sodium was the base cause of my strains). I was advised to start taking in more salt. He gave me a recipe for essentially a homemade sport drink (Honey, salt, lemon, lime. it's actually pretty good). When I tell anyone about it, I get "advised" that I shouldn't drink that, it's not healthy, we get enough salt already. No, YOU get enough salt already because you eat processed crap. I'll admit that I've restricted myself to a pretty boring diet, but I almost relish in the simplicity of it. I'm slowly starting to add things, but I really like buying in bulk, cooking in bulk and being able to pretty much autopilot the calorie counting part of this. I don't know why the "tips" piss me off so much, it's just insulting having people who aren't even trying, or have never actually tried tell me what I should be doing. Now, if I was struggling and asked for tips, then sure, but being told "There's no way you should workout/run in the morning, and then do another jog in the evening" by someone who has converted their basement treadmill into a clothes rack is just annoying. I've cleared what I'm doing with my Dr. and my PT.

I'm losing weight every week, I'm upping the weight I lift or reps every week, I'm upping my mileage every week. I'm succeeding, I don't need someone who went to a gym 10 years ago for a month telling me what I need to be doing. You know who's advice I do take? I take the advice of My friend who just ran the London marathon on what shoes I should look for. I take the advice of my doctor and dietitian on what I should eat. I take the advice of my PT on what I should lift, how I should lift it, and how many times I should lift it. People who's job it is to get people healthy.

I might be a little extra on edge today because I know I'm going to miss my Nov. 1 Target of 190lbs., But I'm about ready to snap my crayon at the next unsolicited "tip" I get. Sorry if this goes against the rules or anything, I just needed to vent. On the plus side, I'm still on pace for my NYE target of 180! I'm hoping to try and recomp from there and ramp up my running to train for a marathon in June.
