Since dropping a good junk a weight one thing that I have started to noticed is that cardio no longer feels like such a chore. It felt like such an abrupt change so when I really thought about it I realized that not only did my knees not hurt with every step but also the arches of my feet did not ache as well. Previously I almost exclusively did elliptical at the gym (I walk outside) but when I was at my highest even that felt like a lot of work because of the pain.
However, I have noticed change to my heart rate as measured by the machine. When I realized that my perceived exertion was low but my output (measured by watts, I was at 275 for about 5 mins) was high I decided to check my heart rate expecting to see something around the 130-140 BPM range and was looking to gloat to myself about the positive changes to my cardio. I was really surprised to see it at 174. I was not out of breath and I did not notice my heart rate like I would in the past. I know this is technically still in a safe range for my age, and that if I am actually concerned I should speak with a doctor. Recently I have started phentermine and I am wondering if maybe this could be a side effect since phentermine is a CNS. Since starting phen. I have decreased caffeine intake just to be safe so that is why I was so surprised. I have now noticed it on multiple different cardio machines of different brands so I dont think it was an anomaly related to that particular machine. Wondering if anyone has experienced this in the past and especially if they were on phentermine?
IN CASE HELPFUL:
- Recently started phentermine
- Usually high caffeine user and have reduced since starting phentermine
- Resting heart rate is around 60-64 BPM
- Blood pressure 116/74
- Perceived exertion is low when machine is measuring these results
- Respiration rate was comfortable and low when HR measured, but I am not measuring this
