Working out after a 6 year gap

Hey hi hello, need some assistance.

I recently started working out again after a 6 year gap (multiple pregnancies, work, trying to find a routine I liked). I had been spinning on a regular basis (once or twice weekly) before my first pregnancy. With that, I ballooned up to 230, then lost about 40, then back up to 210 for the second. I thought I'd get back down again, but its been almost 3 years and I had only gotten to 200-197.

So I bought a spin bike for home a month ago, and I've been working out every other night. I had forgotten how much I love it! It's been so much better for my mental and physical health. I've lost 7 pounds so far.

I'd like to get to 150 or less, my pre baby weight. I had been eating smaller portion sizes already, that was what got me from 210-200.

Couple questions:

What should my post workout routine be? Protein? Is working out multiple days in row too much to start with? How long should it take to lose 40 pounds? 40 weeks? I'm spinning right now because it makes me happy, but I had done weights in the past. When should I work that in?

Thanks, I'll take any advice I can get. Really excited about my spin bike!
