Small backstory, my dad was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes earlier this year and after testing my blood sugar and realizing that I was dangerously close to my own diagnosis, I decided to change my lifestyle. Unfortunately that lasted about two weeks and then I fell off the wagon again. It wasn't until my dad (6'2) told me that he was within 10 pounds of my weight did I have my REAL break through and realize that I can't trick myself into thinking that I'm fine and healthy if I weigh more than my overweight, diabetic dad who is almost a foot taller than me.
It's been a month and half so far with no danger of falling off again, a real lifestyle change. I've found a kickboxing class that I love, I go to the gym basically every day, and have been practicing CICO.
The most exciting changes I've felt haven't really been visible (although people in class have noticed that I'm stronger which feels awesome!) But mostly that I can feel all over my body that my topmost layer of fat, that really soft pillowy kind, is just gone. My thighs, stomach, and arms all just feel tighter. It's such an amazing feeling and not really one I expected so early (I assumed that the pillowy fat would hold on the longest). I realized the other day that my wrists are smaller, which was insane to me.
These changes, even though they're small have really motivated me to keep going and I just wanted to share. Thanks for reading :)
