Did more cardio, gained more weight

Background: 20M 5'5 (165cm)

My weight has always been a bit consistent after 10th grade. Started at 105 lbs, then gained up to 165 lbs two years later, then went down to 145 a year later. My 60 lb weight gain can be accounted to the sudden stop of being a multi-sport athlete due to injuries that took two years to recover.

Fast forward to a month ago, I was at a steady 145-149 lbs range depending on what day it is. I was doing regular weights training for 5 to 6 times a week, but I wanted to weigh less as my goal was to be at 135 lbs. I started doing 1.25km swimming and 3km running at alternating days accompanied by the weights training for the days that I ran. However, in a span of a month, instead of losing weight, I gained as I'm currently at 157-159 lbs. I also made sure to eat less as well to monitor my diet.

Is there any reason for the weight gain?
