Hi, all.
I am enlisting in the US Navy. I'm super excited. This was not an option when I graduated high school because of my weight, so it's awesome that I can still have these experiences now that I'm a little older.
I carried the majority of my weight in my ass and thighs. I have a little loose skin on my stomach and a little on my chest, but it's very mild. However when I sit down, the skin from my thighs is very apparent. I'm sure others don't notice as much, but I sure do.
We are going to shower together naked. I'm fine with this, no one is going to feel very confident but people seem to get used to it after a while.
What I'm afraid of is running. I love to run, it's how I lost weight and I do it for fun and for my mental health. However, the skin makes noises sometimes and honestly the sounds gag me. They're just flappy skin sounds and I think it's so gross. I have my 1.5 mile run DOWN and I will exceed the prt standard on the first try. I hate that I can't be more confident.
I'm very worried about other recruits hearing my skin when I run. I'm honestly freaking out about it a little.
I stopped doing martial arts because of the sound my skin made while I did jumping jacks. It was just too much. I don't want it to hold me back, but it's so embarrassing.
