I have recently started tracking my calories and have come up with a plan that allows me to have a pretty aggressive "cheat day" one day every week. The calories still work out and I am still losing 2lbs/week, but I wanted some feedback on whether or not it is a good idea.
So my goal is to lose 2lbs/week or be in a caloric deficit of 1,000 calories per day. My current daily calories to reach that goal are roughly 2,150. Here's my idea: Instead of eating 2,150 for all 7 days, I would eat 1,750 for 6 days (1.4k deficit) and save those calories for a cheat day of 2,150 + 2,400 = 4,650. I'm thinking it would be a nice reward for sticking to a strict diet 6 out of 7 days of the week.
Has anyone else done this sort of thing? Is it sustainable? Good or bad idea?
