I've rediscovered tea!

As I'm sure is the case for a lot of people, I snack for bad reasons, like boredom, stress, things like that. I'm short, so I'm trying to aim for 1200 calories a day, which really doesn't leave much room for snacks of any sort!

After a while of either going way over my calorie goal (and feeling like a failure) or meeting my goal and having to spend all my snacking time fighting off thoughts of food I didn't really need, one day a couple of weeks ago I decided to have a cup of sleepytime tea instead of the chocolate biscuit I really wanted. To my surprise it tasted absolutely delicious, even better than normal probably because I wasn't totally stuffed when I drank it!

I went shopping and instead of buying chips and chocolate for snacks, I bought a variety of herbal teas. I'm really enjoying exploring the flavours and having a cup next to me when I'm working or watching TV has really solved the "boredom snacking" issue - I just drink tea instead! Next on my shopping list is a proper teapot and a variety of loose leaf tea. My favourite tea I ever drank was bought in China so I don't think I'll get to have that anytime soon but I'm excited for the new flavours I'll discover! I don't put any sugar, milk or honey in my herbal teas so it basically feels like free food with no calories. I'm loving it and wanted to share!
